I am a creative artist, and author based in Ottawa, ON. I am a husband to an amazing wife, and a proud father of three wonderful kids. Ever since I was young I’ve had a passion to live a life fueled by creativity. I’ve always loved comic books and stories of heroes and adventure. I enjoy helping others, meeting new people, and turning inspirational ideas into eye-catching visual art. I currently work as Sales and Marketing Coordinator for Thermal Energy International Inc, and as an independent Creative Designer for many wonderful people and organizations listed on my Clients page.
I hope you enjoy the creative content on my portfolio page, and that I may have an opportunity to work with you to bring one of your inspirations to life. For more info on my professional background, please check out my resume and visit my LinkedIn Profile. Follow me on Twitter.
EviKreative originally started out as DC4DESIGNS, named after my initials when I started initializing my sketches in school with “DC4” [as in DC4ever]. I began providing creative services in 2000, just before I began my post secondary education, and this continued all through university and college. I graduated with a Bachelor of Applied (Fine) Arts from the University of New Brunswick (UNB) in 2005, and went on to study Graphic Design at the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design (NBCCD), graduating with honors in 2007 from the college’s excellent Creative Graphics diploma program. For over a decade I provided graphic design services under DC4DESIGNS to clients across Canada.
In December 2011, I decided that my graphic design service offering needed to grow and be re-branded in order to reflect the broader range of creative services requested by my clients. In addition to graphic design, I began offering a wider variety of creative services including: marketing strategies, communications and public relations services, creative writing, illustration, photography, paintings, portraiture, animation, and other services. With this new creative direction I developed a new creative identity that would better reflect the new creative services I was offering. On December 15, 2012, I re-branded DC4DESIGNS as EviKreative, named after the ‘Evik’ inuit name given to me in the elementary school I attended in Gjoa Haven [a hamlet in Nunavut, above the Arctic Circle]. Evik was the local name for a bright yellow flower that grows there. I have always loved the name and how it reminds me of the unique experience it was to have lived in the majestic Canadian north when I was young.
Under the name EviKreative I have been fortunate to have worked for some amazing clients in support of hundreds of creative projects.
